Analyst's note:  Absolutely must read.  Not much bothers me, but this story makes me sick.  A 95-year-old veteran John Wrana fought for America in World War II, but he didn’t get a chance to die for his country.  Instead, his country killed him with a beanbag shotgun blast to the stomach after a thorough tazering.

Then we read about the Police Who Arrest Man For Not Following Orders… While He Is Having A Stroke.  Why do we now have A growing epidemic of what is often referred to as "isolated incidents" of paramilitary police units (most commonly called Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT) for routine police ... Overkill: The Rise of Paramilitary Police Raids in America.  Some are clearly suggesting that our law enforcement is becoming a domestic military system; that this same Law Enforcement community found a way aroundPosse Comitatusfor the Department of Defense.

Right under our noses, law enforcement has become a domestic military operation across our homeland and we need to ask some hard questions as to the legality and the determine the real objectives.

The police tactics at issue in the Stewart case are no anomaly. Since the 1960s, in response to a range of perceived threats, law-enforcement agencies across the U.S., at every level of government, have been blurring the line between police officer and soldier.

The Department of Defense provides funding and equipment to countless law enforcement agencies nationally which is a supplement to what the Department of Homeland Security provides. The question is why, and just what is the defined agenda? How many failed missions have there been and who is responsible?

As a nation and as communities, we can and must do better than this.  Does no one remember the U.S. Constitution, Amendment II?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

For details as to how that was handled in our early days, and should be so today, I recommend study of a recently published document entitled The Sword and Sovereignty: The Constitutional Principles of "the Militia of the Several States" (Constitutional Homeland Security) [CD-ROM]

"The Sword and Sovereignty: The Constitutional Principles of the Militia of the several States is a comprehensive CD-ROM study-2,304 pages in length, with 6,544 footnotes and endnotes-of the constitutional and statutory history of Americas Militia, which gives special emphasis to the unique and indispensable rôle of the Militia as the institutions through which WE THE PEOPLE themselves ultimately provide, or withhold, the consent of the governed upon which this countrys form of government depends for its legitimacy.

The Sword and Sovereignty derives the basic legal and practical principles of the Militia from a detailed study of the pre-constitutional Militia statutes of Rhode Island and Virginia selected, for reasons the book makes clear, as exemplars of what happened throughout America in that era. It explains how these principles are embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and how they should be applied in the operation of Americas true federal system of government-indeed, why it is Congresss and every States duty to see to the organization of, and every Americans personal duty to participate in, the Militia, more imperatively now than ever before.

It exposes the dangerous fallacy in the contemporary individual-rights misinterpretation of the Second Amendment, and explains how the Supreme Courts Heller decision reduced Americans right * * * to keep and bear Arms to a level far below what their forebears enjoyed when the Constitution and Bill of Rights were ratified. And it examines ways in which revitalized Militia of the several States could, should, and if they were properly revitalized would deal with many of the most pressing contemporary problems this country faces-such as the correction of rogue public officials the supervision of the the military-industrial complex the conduct of honest elections the provision of an alternative currency, etc."

WWII Veteran John Wrana Served honorably in India and Burma during the conflict

95-year-old veteran John Wrana fought for America in World War 2, but he didn’t get a chance to die for his country. Instead, his country killed him with a beanbag shotgun blast to the stomach after a thorough tazering.

The incident began after Wrana, who uses a walker, refused a surgery at his assisted living home. He grew agitated at the staff for pressuring him for medical attention. He was a war hero and didn’t like being pushed around.

Soon the police arrived to subdue the senior citizen, riot gear at the ready to take on the wobbly old man. Conflicting reports have emerged between officers and staff, with the employees of the home reporting that they asked officers not to harm him and requested to intervene. But police decided instead to tazer the war hero and follow it up with a beanbag to the guts. Officers reported that a knife had been pulled, but no knife was found on the scene. The police used a riot shield, shotgun and tazer on a 95-year-old man in a walker who arguable presented no threat to anyone but himself.
