Media Buries Psychiatric Drug Connection to Navy Shooter

Despite every indication that Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis was on SSRI drugs that have been linked to dozens of previous mass shootings, the mainstream media has once again avoided all discussion of the issue, preferring instead to blame the tragedy on a non-existent AR-15 that the gunman didn’t even use.

We now know that Alexis “had been treated since August by the Veterans Administration for his mental problems.”
As Mike Adams points out, “This is proof that Aaron Alexis was on psychiatric drugs, because that’s the only treatment currently being offered by the Veterans Administration for mental problems. Alexis’ family members also confirmed to the press that he was being “treated” for his mental health problems. Across the medical industry, “treatment” is the code word for psychiatric drugging.”
Alexis also suffered from PTSD, blackouts and anger issues – all of which are treated with SSRI drugs. The most common form of treatment for PTSD is Paroxetine, which is listed as the number 3 top violence-causing drug by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP).
The Navy Yard shooter was clearly on some form of psychiatric drug, but the media has shown no interest in discovering its identity.
Despite it being reported that prescription drugs were found in the apartment of ‘Batman’ shooter James Holmes days after the Aurora massacre, it took nine months to find out exactly what those drugs were. Like Columbine killer Eric Harris, Holmes had been taking Zoloft, another SSRI drug linked with violent outbursts.
The length of time it took to find out that Holmes was on Zoloft was partly because the media habitually shows zero interest in pursuing the link between anti-depressants and violence.
As the website SSRI Stories profusely documents, there are literally hundreds of examples of mass shootings, murders and other violent episodes that have been committed by individuals on psychiatric drugs over the past three decades. The number of cases is staggering.
Why is the corporate media so disinterested in pursuing this clear connection?
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the pharmaceutical giants who produce drugs like Zoloft, Prozac and Paxil spend around $2.4 billion dollars a year on direct-to-consumer television advertising every year. By running negative stories about prescription drugs, networks risk losing tens of millions of dollars in ad revenue. [....]

IRS officials admit caving to Obama administration and media pressure to target Tea Party groups

The more congressional investigators look into the IRS targeting scandal, the worse it looks for IRS and top Obama administration officials.

IRS employees were “acutely” aware in 2010 that President Obama wanted to crack down on conservative organizations and were egged into targeting tea party groups by press reports mocking the emerging movement, according to an interim report being circulated Tuesday by House investigators.
The report, by staffers for Rep. Darrell E. Issa, California Republican and chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, quoted two Internal Revenue Service officials saying the tea party applications were singled out in the targeting program that has the agency under investigation because “they were likely to attract media attention.”
In the report, the investigators do not find evidence that IRS employees received orders from politicians to target the tea party, and agency officials deny overt bias or political motives.
But the report says the IRS was at least taking cues from political leaders and designed special policies to review tea party applications, including dispatching some of them to Washington to be vetted by headquarters. [....]

Tennessee district spends $5.2M to align with Common Core standards

Illegal immigrants chain themselves to White House fence

Seven illegal immigrants chained themselves to the White House fence Wednesday to demand President Obama halt all deportations, saying he has a moral obligation to keep families together.
“Stop deportations — not one more,” onlookers chanted as police moved in to remove the activists, who aired a live web videocast of their arrest.
A day earlier, Mr. Obama had rejected their calls, telling Telemundo, a Spanish-language network, that halting more deportations is “not an option.” [....]

Analyst's note: Since at least the 1950s, “political motivations” have left American service members systematically disarmed during various military duties, which has led to mass casualties in “gun-free” zones.
'This is not your father's Navy'

In the aftermath of the horrific shooting at the Washington, D.C., Navy Yards, Dr. Savage asks once more, “Who disarmed the military?”
He also wondered why the U.S. military is so heavily staffed with civilian contractors instead of enlisted men and women.
“This is not your father’s Navy,” Savage noted, adding:
Most of those injured or killed — God bless them all — were not Navy personnel.
They were civilian contractors, part of the military industrial complex worker bees.
Have you noticed how many people work in the military now, simply getting contract after contract?
That’s not the issue today, but I want to put what I’m about to say in context.
It is my educated opinion that there must be more guns on bases, to prevent this from happening again.
I said this after the Fort Hood massacre, where nobody had a gun. The shooter wasn’t stopped until a local policewoman showed up.
Now here we have another case of unarmed military personnel on a U.S. naval base.
Who disarmed these workers? Who disarmed the military?
There’s a lot of blame to go around.
