Rumors about the administration’s silencing of those CIA operatives with knowledge of what happened during that terrible night in Benghazi, on September 12, 2012, have been circulating for months. One of the charges leveled against the CIA, as the above CNN report shows, is that the CIA has been forcing operatives who know anything about Benghazi to take monthly polygraph tests, during which they ask them if they’ve spoken to the media or to Congress. (The CIA might be able to make a case that its operatives shouldn’t speak to the media, but the pressure to ignore Congress is illegal and unconstitutional.)

CIA employees who know about Benghazi are subject to monthly polygraph tests.

The norm at the CIA is to subject employees to polygraph tests once every few years. This type of intimidation means that CIA employees live in daily fear that the will be fired and rendered unemployable, something that can devastate their families. It is a sword on a string hanging over their heads every minute of every day.

CNN’s sources claim that the CIA is terrified that the operatives might speak to Congress about events in Benghazi
