"Throughout history there have been, from time to time, a series of laws known as sumptuary laws. These laws were enacted usually by nations with a dominant religious group to identify minority religious groups. These laws generally required, or compelled, the wearing of badges, hats, bells, belts, etc. as a means of identification on the outer garments of those in the minority. Sumptuary laws were intended to shame the wearer and were often associated with antisemitism.
The yellow badge, a Star of David with Jude emblazoned upon it, was revived by the German Nazis during Hitler’s reign of terror and effort at world domination to identify the Jews. From the invasion of Poland in September 1939 through the domination of Bohemia and Moravia in September 1941, different methods of identification were in use but after September 1941, the yellow badge became universal throughout the Third Reich for all Jews over the age of six.
There is a popular legend that states that king Christian X of Denmark when faced with Danish Jews being ordered to wear the yellow badge that he appeared wearing the badge himself on his morning ride. In the book titled Queen in Denmark the Danish Queen Margarete II says about the legend: “It is a beautiful and symbolic story, but it is not true. The myth about the King wearing the star of David I can imagine that this could have originated from a typical remark by a Copenhagen errand boy on his bicycle: ‘If they try to enforce the yellow star here, the King will be the first to wear it!’ To me, the truth is an even greater honor for our country than the myth.”
During the past two years, the Obama administration has, through very public acts, alienated our only true ally in the middle east, Israel. Just this past week our President once again kicked Israel to the curb by making public the issue of the pre six-day war borders in the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The Islamic nations that attacked Israel in 1967 had hoped to divide Israel, across her nine-mile narrow neck, and thereby conquer her according to their desire since Israel was established by the UN partition of 1948. It is foolishness indeed to think that returning the Golan Heights to Syria and the West Bank to Jordan will strengthen Israel against its neighbors bent on Israel’s annihilation. The return of the Gaza Strip is ample evidence of this flawed thinking. It must be understood that Hamas is serious when it says that the Jews were brought to Israel so that they could be easily exterminated! The world needs to remember that the establishment of Israel as a Jewish state was in part due to the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis. It was a determination by the world to keep its promise of “NEVER AGAIN!” Shall we, as a community of nations, permit another Holocaust in the Twentieth-first Century by theo-political Islam when the “greatest generation” and the world said “NEVER AGAIN?!”
Here in the United States, there is a popular song which states “You have to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.” The question to you, my fellow Freedom-Fighter, is where do you stand on our nation’s traditional support of Israel and “Liberty” in general? Do you stand with the “greatest generation” and the world in saying “NEVER AGAIN” or are you choosing to be apatetic and ignore the threat? Daily we continue to see our only middle-eastern ally, Israel, assaulted by the Obama administration in the public forum.
Concerning our own plight here in the United States, daily we continue to see the assault by the Progressives and the Socialist-DINOs on the unalienable rights of man to Life, Liberty and Property granted by God as enumerated in the Declaration of Independence. Daily we continue to see the assault by the Progressives and Socialist-DINOs on the Judeo-Christian principles of freedom our Founding Fathers bequeathed to us in our Constitution when they established our Constitutional Republic in 1787. In concert with this, We the People now have an administration that refuses to identify our enemy and the threat of theo-political Islam from within and without!
Rev. Martin Niemüller, a German Lutheran pastor, who was arrested by the Gestapo in 1938 is attributed with saying, “In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me.” (Emphasis added.)
When will We the People and the world as a whole wake up and confront the tyranny of theo-political Islam? Do we have to repeat the errors of the political leaders of the World War II era? Can we, as a community of nations, not recognize the parallels of Hitler’s rise to power and the present day threat of theo-political Islam? When will We the People and the world join the “greatest generation” and take a stand against tyranny?
We need to look past the political rhetoric and propaganda being fed to us by the Islamist nations, led overtly and covertly by Iran through Hamas, Hezballah and the Muslim Brotherhood. We need to BELIEVE the reality that the theo-political Islamists are as surely bent on world domination in a caliphate ruled by a caliph under Sharia Law as was Hitler, the Third Reich and the Axis Powers were bent on world domination ruled by them during the World War II era.
We, as a community of nations, need to understand and acknowledge that theo-political Islamists practice “Al-taqiyya,” as permitted in the Koran, the practice of “bearing a false witness” or LYING to further their cause. That is why the Aramaic and English broadcasts of Al Jazeera differ in their content on the same stories. We, each of us, as individuals and as nations, must understand the reality of the threat to freedom for Israel, the United States, and the “free” world. We, as a community of nations, need to remember the promise “NEVER AGAIN!”
It is time for each of us to find the courage to speak out against the tyranny that confronts Israel and the United States from within and without on every side. We the People need to make a statement in support of Israel. The need for this support happened once before in Billings, Montana in December 1993 during Chanukah when a cinder block was thrown through a window of a Jewish home displaying a menorah. It was then the city of Billings came together and displayed thousands of menorahs. It is time now for We the People to stand with this courage again! We can do this simply and quietly by replacing our U.S. flag pins with a combined pin of the U.S. and Israeli flags on our coats, hats, etc. Let’s show the Jews, Israel and the world that we stand with the “greatest generation” in their affirmation of “NEVER AGAIN!” Let us demonstrate to the Obama administration that we will NOT permit Israel to be kicked to the curb and to stand alone in the face of our common enemy. Let every freedom-loving American don the dual flag pin today and say “I stand for the freedom and existence of Israel. I will not permit theo-political Islam to dominate the world and extinguish the light of freedom for all mankind. I stand with the ‘greatest generation’ in their promise of ‘NEVER AGAIN!’”
