The result of these wealth redistribution policies are apparent in society today; the enormous national debt, inflation, high unemployment, crime, drug use, falling moral standards, all of these ills can be traced back to the supposedly free government money being handed out. Nothing in this world is free, there is always a price to be paid. The value of a person working and earning their own living cannot be understated, it is one of the foundational bedrocks of a moral, just and prosperous society and we are allowing it to be cast away for political gain.

The 13th Amendment - March 2014

On January 31st of 1865, under the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was passed by Congress, it was later ratified by the States after Lincoln's assassination in December of the same year. Section 1 of the 13th amendment reads as follows: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.". This amendment's purpose was to end slavery and involuntary servitude in the United States and for a while it seemed as though that goal had been accomplished, however upon reflection I believe that a new form of involuntary servitude has emerged and is threatening every working person in the country.
Now before proceeding further I feel compelled to make a politically correct disclaimer statement (lest anyone get their knickers in a twist) that I am in no way attempting to equate the horrors and misery of bondage, forced labor and sale of men and women that occurred during the early years of our Country to what I am discussing now. That was and is chattel slavery and is not the subject of my comparison. What I do want to discuss is involuntary servitude and how that is occurring every day and how it is destroying our Country. Wikipedia defines involuntary servitude as: a United States legal and constitutional term for a person laboring against that person's will to benefit another, under some form of coercion other than the worker's financial needs...."
So how is it that we are involuntary servants? Well if you work and earn a paycheck taxes are taken out, these taxes are for the Constitutionally authorized purpose of operating the government, however the government has exceeded their authority and now doles out that money in the form of welfare, grants, subsidies, studies etc. It is a massive redistribution of wealth scheme that frankly is against my will, but I have very little or no say in the matter because if I don't pay or refuse to pay these taxes then I will eventually have armed agents of the government knocking at my door, seizing my property and putting me in jail. How is this not involuntary servitude! The fruits of my labors are taken from me against my will and given to others who have not earned them. On top of that insult the dirty secret is, this is done not to care for the truly poor and disabled, because if this were the case then I would willing submit to this practice, but rather this is being done for the purpose of purchasing political power from those who benefit from the handouts. These handouts purchase votes and political power at the expense of the working class so the working class can remain slaves to the political party endorsing this wealth redistribution system.
