In the wake of 911, the White House went to great measure to assure the Islamic community that America was not at war with Muslims. To the extent, that it initiated a campaign to entice Muslims to join our military. West Point, along with other service academies and military installations, opened prayer rooms and recruited Imams. Non-Muslim officers and pentagon officials, along with the Bush White House, began celebrating Muslim holidays.

President Obama, on his recent apology tour, announced a “new beginning” with the Muslim world in his Cairo speech. Repairing our relations with the Muslim world was one of Obama’s presidential goals.

Yet here we are today, grieving the loss of our service men and women who were murdered, where they should have been safe. By a man who should have healed them.

And still the politically correct pipers continue to lull us to sleep as political Islam (Islamists) settle into our beds.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Executive Director, Nihad Awad, and Hamas supporter, told Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball, he found it disturbing that Maj. Nidal Hasan’s religion was an issue in reports by the United States’ press.

Awad:“Even if this guy uttered the word “‘Allahu Akbar’ or God is great.”

Matthews injected:

“Right before the shooting.”

Awad: “Yeah, so what?”

Matthews first guest to speak on behalf of the Muslim community was a shinning example of how the Left wraps political Islam in the cloak of religion, thereby insulating America’s enemies from criticism and shielding them any kind of close examination.

Then we have General Casey say: “As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.”

Not only has the Army failed to recognize the diversity within the Muslim community, (the difference between a political Islamist and a Muslim) but in its blind allegiance to follow the code of political correctness it can no longer recognize our enemy–political Islam.

Matthew’s most recent Muslim guest to speak on the Ft. Hood massacre was Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) President, and outspoken critic of political Islam, who warned:

“We have to be careful that political correctness is driving us away from protecting ourselves from the enemy within and from the enemy from abroad. And there is a political ideology that has massed itself within a theology that I love, but we can’t deny. It’s time for Muslims to stop complaining and stop being victims and say you know what, we have to start from within combating. No different from the time of the American Revolution, they determined that there were Christians that were part of the Church of England that were enemies of America and there Christians that believed in a country based on the establishment clause. And based on freedom and liberty that were about what the West was about. And that’s what we really need to start to make that distinction.”

American Muslims, who enjoy the freedom to worship as they please, must also learn to embrace the separation of mosque and state. Lest their freedom, one day be in jeopardy by the same radicals they are too quick to protect.

If our military has any hope of maintaining its “diversity” so cherished by Gen. Casey, it will have to abandon the path of political correctness, and learn how to tell theIslamist enemy from a Muslim soldier.
