Analyst's note: Absolutely must read and heed. In the days prior to the resurgence of the global Islamist jihad, as stated years ago by Gen. Lewis Walt, USMC (Retired) in his book published in 1979 entitled, "The Eleventh Hour" on page xiii, our objectives as citizens are to:
"[...] 1. to purge the Congress of the forces of appeasement and surrender which are pulling us toward war or slavery; and 2. replace them with men and women of integrity and common sense who will restore our military superiority, the only coin with which we can buy the time for diplomacy to work.

Gen. Walt went on to say on page 98 of his book:
"I think the future of our country boils down to this simple proposition: either we as Americans will assume the responsibilities of citizenship or or nation, as the land of the free, will be destroyed. [....] We are living in a time of crisis, when the fate of our nation will be determined within a few short years."
I knew General Lewis Walt, and greatly respect his career in the U.S. Marine Corps as well as his work following his retirement. His ability, even today, to help us connect-the-dots remains valid and perhaps even more important today. Now but a "few short years later," at their nation's frantic request, following an unprecedented attack on September 11, 2001, they came together to produce a report on the attack against the the United States for which we were totally unprepared. How could this have happened and what can we do to avoid similar tragedies? Through Public Law 107-306, dated November 27, 2002, the Congress and the President created the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.
In a long nine years after 9/11, Americans are still thinking and talking about how to protect our nation against the global Islamist jihadist threat. Well kind of ... until our federal government stopped using such words in order not to offend our enemy. The national debate does however continue.
We now hear of a Senate Judiciary subcommittee who will assess our government's preparedness for yet another terrorist attack. This time the concern is weapons of mass destruction used against us in the wake of yet another report -- this time the report calls our U.S. Justice Department planning inadequate. Not only inadequate, but totally inadequate to prevent an attack. See the pictures and diagrams in the report mentioned below through the embedded URL.
"[....] Last week's detonation along the Texas-Mexico border of an Improvised Explosive Device similar to those used in Iraq and Afghanistan strongly suggests that Hezbollah is working with the drug cartels -- and that America is unsafe. Law-enforcement officials and intelligence analysts believe that terrorist groups like al Qaeda have been working with such gangs as the ruthless MS-13 to smuggle terrorists into America.
A congressional report on homeland security acknowledges this threat. The report, "A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border," addresses the alarming rate at which the number of aliens referred to as "other than Mexican," or OTMs, are crossing the border. Many OTMs are nationals and terrorists from countries such as Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Chechnya, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Our biggest threat is that a nuclear, dirty or biological bomb could be smuggled by OTMs into America soon."
We have not forgotten the recent string of failures of our federal government. Such events as the murders at Fort Hood, and two failed bombing attacks - one on NW Flight 253 and their other in a crowded Times Square -- all by jihadist. The Times Square attack, had it been properly prepared would have again killed thousands of innocent American citizens, so confirms our FBI.
Once again we learn that American citizens are without adequate protection from our federal government. This time the report is our Department of Justice. This is the same group that is not protecting our borders against illegal immigrants. We are not talking about a little tweak here. The grade was reported as "F." How many more "reports" are waiting in the wings that will formally point out that our federal government is unprepared.
“Intel briefings and other sources suggest that al Qaeda spends as much as $50,000 to smuggle in a single terrorist, while Hezbollah, funded by Iran, pays as much as $10,000.
Indeed, some analysts estimate that thousands of terrorists have already been smuggled into the United States through the Mexican border since 9/11. Last year, a worker at the Mexican embassy in Beirut was caught selling visas to enter Mexico for $3,000 apiece. Hezbollah terrorists know that once they get to Mexico they can make their way here through our southern border."
If that were not enough, we learn of an unprepared Congress as pointed out in this statement, were we must "[...] educate lawmakers about the seriousness of the threat posed by WMDs [...]." We are also advised that:
"[....] Intelligence analysts think Hezbollah has at least 11 cells in America, including one in New York City. If provoked, perhaps via an Israeli strike, it is likely Iran will retaliate not only against Israel but against its strongest ally. "
According to Senator Joe Lieberman, “The threat of nuclear terrorism is growing faster than our ability to prevent an attack on our homeland.” At the insistence of "We the People" of this United States, our elected federal government officials clearly must return to their duties assigned them in the U.S. Constitution and spend their time attending to the protection and defense of this republic (defending life, liberty, and protection of property), especially while we are at war -- and stop worrying about how to redistribute what wealth we have left.
[....] Terrorists now have operational centers all over South America. They're learning Spanish and obtaining fake Spanish papers in case they're caught crossing over the Mexican border. The Tri-Border region of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay in South America has become a haven for international Islamic extremists. A State Department report notes that Hezbollah and other terrorist groups were using bases in Latin America to "raise millions of dollars annually via criminal enterprises."
The time for political correctness is over and the time for an effective national response is long since past.
