Analyst's note:  More and more of our national leaders are rightfully seeing our nation's economy as a major part of our national security.  As we seriously study the basic national security issues associated with these United States, we must understand the entire economic picture of our nation.  This interesting article addresses an critical issue that we are facing and we certainly are going to have to get it right.  It lays out foundational issues that must be addressed if we are to survive as a free society or face the coming implosion of the U.S. economy with the resulting loss of our national security - freedoms, liberty and sovereignty.  Once our freedoms are lost, it will take blood to restore.

"Two competing programs are proposed to Congress from the left and from Americas manufacturers. One protects domestic unions while further burdening US manufacturers and consumers. The other grows US competitiveness.

[....] The way of the left only digs the hole deeper, and then pulls the dirt in upon our heads. The way of US manufacturers, instead, strengthens the US competitive advantages.

P.S.: Obama’s razzle-dazzle abroad won't cut it, reports the New York Times."

At a time when banks and most businesses are paralyzed by economic uncertainty and despite a call from U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann not to do it, the Federal Reserve (a central bank system that is neither federal, nor do they have any reserves) - a secret cartel operating in support of, but without scrutiny of our federal government - decides to further inflate the American dollar.  Whatever else results, this inflation will produce the same effect on the American tax payer as "raising taxes."  This inflation will produce a loss of buying power of our dollar as the Fed, with the support of the current administration, in effect prints approximately $900B to buy more bonds.  Will those in our federal gov't charged with the national security (this includes economic security) of America be stopped in time to cease this madness and reduce the federal spending before it is too late?

This happened in Germany ... something about the Wiemar Republic and hyperinflation.  Yes, ...  it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread.

Central banks have never been a good thing for a country.  The Federal Reserve -- also currently spelled Greenspan or Ben Bernanke --  is another name for a central bank here in the U.S.  BTW -- have I said, they are neither federal, nor do they have any reserves?

In addition to your final preparation in gathering together your stock of basic needs.  Higher food prices, fuel prices and .... are no doubt coming our the way.  Are you ready

May I also suggest an internal search on this site on "Jekyll" and "federal reserve" and maybe also a quick read as well of a recent article entitled "Banks' $4 trillion debts are 'Achilles heel of the economic recovery', warns IMF."

Our national debt is now being "monitized" despite promises to the contrary.

The Federal Reserve is a scam -- it is not federal and is without reserves.  The Federal Reserve is not any more federal than the company called Federal Express.  The Federal Reserve Banks are not even banks.  It is a cartel of bankers and politicians is a conscience and deliberate effort of evolution -- also involving the International Monetary Fund & World Bank -- into a world central bank, where those involved will issue a world fiat currency.  Along the way, this will reduce competition and increase their own profitability in nations that would otherwise operate with free-enterprise competition.

Fiat money is paper money without precious-metal backing it and the people are required by law to accept it.  Just for the record, as an example I'm describing the American dollar.

Through a financial game of "buyout & bailout", eventually nations and States within the U.S. are no longer capable of independent actions will accept the loss of national sovereignty in return for aid from what, if not stopped, will eventually become a one-world government.  The Federal Reserve or Central Reserve System described here is buying the governments of countries and States within the United States -- and using our money to do it.  This is a form of "redistribution of wealth."   In every almost every case throughout history where this game of deceit was permitted the governments fell.

'Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” – Thomas Jefferson

Observed over time, we see the results of this Federal Reserve system and other central banking systems to produce: elements of war, revolution, depression and fraud.  It is time to abolish the Federal Reserve system that was conceived secretly in America at at meeting in November 1910 on Jekyll Island off of Georgia.

If you want to know more details of the Federal Reserve, then I recommend a book entitled "The Creature from Jekyll Island: A second look at the Federal Reserve" by Edward Griffin.

The world is not being saved from poverty as is the claim - quite the  opposite - and the American public is not protected currently from this grand cabal.  American taxpayers are covering ever increasing values in defaulted national and international loans, so that interest payments continue to the banks.  We also have a number of States in trouble, projected to fester out in 2011, but none maybe so deeply in debt as New York, California and Michigan.

Even though the Feds are printing money out of thin air for the purpose of lending, the people are then taxed in order to help keep us in the dark as to the source of the "money" we see flowing.  Mr. Obama really does not have a "stash" of money from which he can pay the poor, unless you are willing to count the Federal Reserve.  Progressive taxes are especially popular to the elitist social planners who use them to wage war against the middle class as they redistribute their wealth.

In speaking about the Federal Reserve and the tyranny of the majority Mr. Walter E. Williams has noted, "[...] The justification for its creation was to end bank failures and have stability in price levels.  However, if you do a "before and after study," there were a greater number of bank failures after the Federal Reserve bank was established than before it came into being.  And price stability was greater before its enactment as well. In terms of its stated mission, it's a total failure."

This secret cartel known as the federal reserve system -- an instrument of totalitarianism -- needs to be abolished.

This most interesting interview with Mr. Williams gives purposeful and much needed insight into a man whom I recognize as an American scholar and a thoughtful gentleman.  If we learned to emulate the great qualities of this man, our country would rapidly improve.  With his understanding of foreign policy - if implemented - we would also save a great deal of human life and national treasure while renewing international friendship and respect.

The questions in this interview help to frame the man Walter E. Williams - "[...]Mrs. Walter's husband, a successful educator and also a freedom fighter in no particular order. [...]"

There are a number of other issues that have economic significance.  One such issue is in the form of something called the Electoral College,  Our Founding Fathers very carefully crafted a U.S. Constitution where the President and Vice-President are chosen on separate ballots by the electors from each state.  In so doing, each state is entitled to the same number of electors as the sum total of its Representatives and Senators.

No one who is a Senator or Representative, or who occupies an office of trust or profits in the United States government, is eligible to serve as an elector.  Currently the people have the RIGHT to have all of the electors chosen from among the general populace - electors who can know and judge the candidate -- this in order to prevent a cabal or coalition of government officials to seek these positions in order to favor one of their own.

Our Founding Fathers knew that the concentration of governmental power is the greatest threat to our individual freedom and states rights.  They insisted in nothing less than protection for the electoral system from conquest and occupation by elements within or associated with the federal government.  All this to avoid corruption and not be exposed to the evils of party intrigue.

To avoid a cabal, from across the United States, the electors vote at the same time and in great distances from each other.  The president of the Senate has the right to count the ballots.  The Congress is given the right to observe the opening of the ballots and the counting of the votes for each candidate.  With a pure democracy instead of a representative republic, the following large states would control the entire United States:  CA, TX, NY, FL, IL, PA, OH, MI, GA, and NC. As the author of this article points out, "The Electoral College exists to give all fifty states equal status and power, whether large or small, left or right."

It is good that we take occasion to ponder the meaning of our Declaration of Independence adopted so long ago by unanimous vote of Congress.  It should remain a treasured document to us here in these United States just as it remains a wonderment to those who do not yet know freedom and independence.  The price of freedom remains high for both those who wish to retain it and for those who seek to gain it.  Like many good things in life, it is not something that can be given, rather it must be earned.  Once lost, freedom is only regained by blood because of those who are constantly working against mankind for power and gain.

We have yet another Constitutional issue -- the Second Amendment -- that must be remembered.  I count the author of this piece below, Robin L. Quillon, as a personal friend.  And with his permission, I post this entire article.  I'm confident that you will enjoy his logic presented here on the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States "[...] which guarantees an individual’s right to bear arms.”

— Thomas Jefferson said: “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

I and my colleagues take this quote to heart, especially during election time.

Our editorial board met this past week with Joe Hoeffel, a Democrat running for governor in the primary. We wanted him to help us understand how he would govern if elected.

These sessions are vital, and can be long and grueling.

We dig. We probe.

Calvin Coolidge said: “The purpose of a campaign is to send an intelligent and informed voter to the ballot box.”

That’s why we do this.

I admire anyone willing to submit to such scrutiny. It can be unnerving to have your words written down and analyzed.

I wish every citizen could undertake this process with candidates, as we do.

But I know that’s just not possible.

Hoeffel gave us what we felt were passionate, honest answers. However, for me, one question stood out among the many asked, because of his response.

While he might not agree, I believe his response revealed volumes about his true belief of the role of government in our lives.

The question: “Please tell us your stance on the Second Amendment, which guarantees an individual’s right to bear arms.”

He said he fully supports the Second Amendment. But, he added, if elected he would support limiting to one the number of guns anyone can purchase per month.

He added rhetorically, “Why would anyone need to buy more than one gun per month?”

Hoeffel believes his approach is a good way to reduce gun violence and illegal straw purchasing – buying for someone who is, for whatever reason, unable to purchase the item themselves.

I asked whether, in keeping with this same reasoning, he also would be in favor of limiting people to the purchase of one six-pack of beer per month.

Surely, if one gun purchase per month could reduce gun violence, then one six-pack purchase per month could reduce drunken driving, domestic abuse or both.

He wasn’t in favor of the one-six-pack-per-month idea.

Government intrusion in our lives seems to be in vogue and getting more pervasive as politicians grow bolder and Americans grow more complacent. Many politicians justify governmental actions by telling us it is for our own good.

A major government reach into our lives in the name of “for our own good” is the law scheduled to take effect in 2014 that requires average citizens to purchase a particular good or service – specifically, health insurance. The penalty for not buying this service or good, as instructed by the government, is money would be taken from you to pay for health care.

The Obama administration says taking your money as a penalty is OK and legal because Congress has the authority to levy taxes. This administration further reasons, as reported by The Associated Press, that “Individual decisions to forgo insurance coverage, in the aggregate, substantially affect interstate commerce by shifting costs to health care providers and the public.”

Right now, 13 states’ attorneys general are involved in a lawsuit to stop what they perceive as an unconstitutional overreach by the federal government into the lives of American citizens.

I agree and hope they prevail.

The continued governmental intrusions into our lives, in the name of “it is for our own good,” must be checked. We have to make sure that those who believe the government knows best what is good or not good for us never have the opportunity to hold office where they will misuse power and trample upon our constitutional rights.

If Americans are forced by their government to buy or not buy a product or service, what could the federal government demand of us next?

It was true more than 200 years ago and it is still true today – the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

If our nation falls, many believe it will occur quickly.  We the People, and those whom we just elected to represent us have much work to do if this nation is to survive.  This may sound to some like a statement that is too strong -- it is not.
