A brutal but effective way to deal with the Muslim piracy mess. I appears that the Russians got their act together before the world even has a clue what just happened. Like Hiroshima , an act like this can save a lot of lives and prevent major future loss of life and property.
We see here a historic and effective way of dealing with the lawless. It appears that the Russians did make one mistake. They should have saved one pirate and sent him home with the story...
This videotape shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somalian pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker. The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties.
All explanations are in Russian with a single exception of when a wounded pirate says something in English and the Russian soldier says "This is not a fishing boat.". All conversations between the commandos are in Russian. If you don't understand Russian, not a problem as the video speak for itself.
The Russian Navy Commandos freed their compatriots and the tanker then moved the pirates back to their own (pirate) ship, searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives, and then left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it.
The commandos sank the pirate ship along with the pirates and without any court proceedings, lawyers etc. Instead, they used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hung.
From now on, Russian ships are not likely to be targets for the remaining Somalian pirates.
America can learn from this? The American federal government still tries to decide what civil court will try the Islamist jihadist we have captured on the field of battle. These are enemy combantants, NOT criminals. And yes, Congress bears ultimate responsibility for this travesty. Political correctness continues to kill American citizens. We have a high probability of seeing these jihadist return to their jihad. But there is a solution ..... will we discover it in time?
