Analyst's note:   We all are sickened by the recent shootings where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the six people were killed and 14 wounded in Saturday's shooting at a Tucson, AZ supermarket.  Not because of their political affiliations, or jobs or views, but because they are human beings.  Before political correctness and the left-wing media moves this story from the truth, we must remember that we all can play the "blame game" after the fact. The responsibility however, for this act of multiple murder and attempted murder in AZ must fall on the perpetrator - the one who pulled the trigger.  As individuals, we are responsible for our acts.

Jared Loughner, a pop-smoking loner who is an obvioust "leftist liberal"(not exactly a "tea party type") - whatever else he is -- listed the  "The Communist Manifesto" and Hitler's "Mein Kampf" among his favorite reading materials.

As the facts in this case unfold, one must also consider the words of a veteran psychiatrist, who for more than "[....] 35 years [...] has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist."

"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."

[....] Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

  • creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
  • satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
  • augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
  • rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

I recall that Mr. Obama "went negative" back in 2007 with this statement:  “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said in Philadelphia last night. “Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”  Are we going to now blame Mr. Obama for every brawl and murder in Philly or elsewhere in America -- I don't think so.  This simply does not compute.  None the less, some are now trying to blame Sara Palin and others with what is being called "heated political rhetoric" as she and others attack their favorite democrat or progressive.

"Shortly after news broke of the attempted murder of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., the left-leaning blog Daily Kos was swift to scrub its post from a Tucson writer explaining how the congresswoman was now "dead to me."

One of the blog's diary writers, identifying himself as BoyBlue, had written a post only two days before the shooting titled "My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!"

"I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' district," BoyBlue wrote. "Today, just a little while ago, I saw on Andrea Mitchell Reports that Giffords voted against Nancy Pelosi as our minority leader. … Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now."

Several news sources and commentators have sought to analyze yesterday's mass shooting in Tucson that left six dead and Giffords in critical condition, while many blogs and columns have blamed the nation's heated political "rhetoric" for inspiring people toward violence against their elected officials.

Sarah Palin in particular has been singled out for criticism by CBS News, the Guardian and others for publishing a "target map" on her website using images of gun sights to identify the districts of 20 House Democrats up for election in last year's mid-terms, including Giffords. [....]
