Analyst's note: Absolutely must see and try to comprehend. I was asked this question this evening by a long-time friend of mine, "Bob: Could this be true? Where would we get 30,000 drones?" Here is my response to an article The List OF 75 US Senators Who Voted To Let 30,000 Drones Shoot Americans In The Streets.
I don't know the full drone count, at least I don't remember, but I don't really doubt it. Remember that drones come in all sizes, to include small like an r/c airplane as well as micro-minis. You will also notice that they are NOT used in mass to protect our borders.
"Americans ought to be more disturbed by the prospect of their domestic presence." Think about it, would you think it "OK" if government photographers (potentially armed) were on each city block and surrounding your home, business, and places where you play and shop with high tech cameras taking pictures/movies of your every move and possibly recording your conversations to "enforce and preserve" your freedom? I think not. This coming use of drones goes well beyond the often heard statement of, "I have nothing to hide."
And for the first time since the Civil War, the federal government will deploy military personnel inside the United States and publicly acknowledge that it is deploying them "to collect information about U.S. persons.”
It gets worse. If the military personnel see something of interest from a drone, they may apply to a military judge or "military commander” for permission to conduct a physical search of the private property that intrigues them. And, any "incidentally acquired information” can be retained or turned over to local law enforcement. What's next? Prosecutions before military tribunals in the U.S.?
