Analyst's note:  Absolutely must read.  It is sad, but true that our news media can not seem to properly title articles such as this one that impact our defense.  If we are going to speak about "American-bred terrorist,"  then why are the media not clear as to the source of the terrorist, as in the case of this article with its original title of "American-Bred Terrorist Causing Alarm for Law Enforcement."  Words and concepts really do matter. Do we really have a free press?

I further suggest that this is a problem for more than just our law enforcement authorities.  Those who becoming or support the global Islamist jihadis is not a crime - they are our enemy and should be so treated.   We are seeing yet another scandal here in America as our Justice Department acts not just unilaterally, but unaccountably regarding the handling of our known enemies. The U.S. Constitution is not a safety net for illegal enemy combatants nor a suicide pact for America.  We have military tribunals for just such -- use them.  Why let our enemy clogg up our court system and provide them added credibiliity.  

The American citizen must come to realize what insidious enemy we are now facing in our own country.  Political correctness as defined by our Islamist jihadist enemy must be stopped.  American neighbors of such people should not be surprised, nor must they continue to think that it can not happen here.  Our enemy is coming again -- they are already in our midst -- and our worst has got to be better than their best if we are to survive their next series of murderous efforts against us as driven by Islamist teachings.  It is true that they only have to "get it right once" to again kill and maim thousands.  "A nation's best defense is an educated citizenry" -- Thomas Jefferson

"In the last six to nine months," [...] "the FBI has seen more domestic Islamist extremist activity than at any time since immediately right after 9/11."  As rightfully pointed out in this article, "With so many potential threats, authorities say they are in a race against time to find these radicals before they launch a successful attack on the land they grew up on."

Sources say this trend represents an unprecedented spike in homegrown terror and is an emerging threat that has them deeply concerned. What they consider to be most alarming is the fact that many of those charged were radicalized on the Internet, with thousands of Americans reportedly frequenting terror websites that espouse mass murder.

A recently disclosed FBI Directorate of Intelligence document from July 2009 estimated that there were as many as 15,000 websites and web forums that were supportive of terrorist activities. Yet, officials say the number of websites is constantly changing since many of the sites and forums are not maintained, with current estimates indicating as many as 10,000 active sites.
