Analyst's note:  Absolutely must read.  Thanks to our friend and associate Robin L. Quillon for the heads-up on this much needed reminder.

“Hanoi Jane” Fonda, fellow feminist Gloria Steinem, and Robin Morgan are calling for the government to step in, via the Federal Communications Commission to kick Rush Limbaugh off the airwaves for comments he made regarding Sandra Fluke. It seems they refuse to accept his many apologies.

“It’s time for the public to take back our broadcast resources,” they wrote in a piece published by CNN. They also advocate denying local radio stations that carry Limbaugh their FCC licenses to operate when they go to renew if they don’t pull his show.

They really want Limbaugh fired and are working every angle to achieve that goal.

Since when do the likes of anti-American “Hanoi Jane” represent women, or America for that matter?
This is the same woman who, to date, has never retracted her statements about wanting, hoping and praying America adopts the communist form of government.

However, as I reflect on what she and these opportunistic, forgotten relics are advocating, it fits perfectly within the framework of a communist society, which is designed specifically to stifle free speech, restrict freedoms and control of every aspect of our lives – but enough about the Obama agenda and back to the point.

Limbaugh used “slut” and “prostitute” to describe Fluke, a Georgetown University law student, because of her stand on requiring religious organizations to cover birth control even though doing so goes against their belief system. I might add, the Obama administration also advocates this assault on religion.

It is interesting, though, that these antique liberals are in no way calling for the government to step in and pull Bill Maher from the airwaves after he used the “C” word to describe Sarah Palin, nor are they calling for liberal talk show host Ed Schultz or Rachel Maddow to be pulled.

Why? It’s simple. They agree with what their fellow liberals spew. A double standard? You decide.

Look, you may or may not agree with what Limbaugh or any other personality says on his or her respective show or in print. That is your right!

But what you should care about deeply is someone or some group calling for the “government” to step in and literally selectively silence someone simply because of offensive words they may have used or because you disagree with them.

This is a slippery slope brimming with dangerous consequences. And do we really want the U.S. government to use its powers to enforce certain forms of speech? I’d rather the government and this administration focus on more pressing issues, such as the economy, unemployment and restoring America’s image and leadership abroad. Something this president has failed miserably at because of his socialistic, inadequate policies.

The First Amendment to our sacred Constitution is very clear, and the Founding Fathers understood perfectly the importance of free speech when they penned:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If we allow any group or individual to alter or weaken our First Amendment rights as guaranteed by our Constitution, it will be the beginning of the end for all freedoms which we now enjoy. Because freedom of speech is the most important check and balance we have on our elected leaders and government.
