Analyst's note: An absolutely great question by Mark Levin. It is appropriate to remember that the reason for the 2nd Amendment is to protect We the People from our government should the need ever arrive. It says nothing about fire arms for hunting. You will note that in the "gun free" zone called a movie theater, when seconds counted, the police arrived in just minutes. You will also note that in our Constitution ... written BEFORE the time of the National Guard ... that "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Which words do today's progressives NOT understand?
Also of interest today is that James Holmes, the alleged gunman in the recent theater shooting that left 12 dead in Aurora, Colo., was previously awarded a $26,000 federal grant. Also of note is that we now know more about this shooter in CO than we do with the man who calls himself Obama. Isn't that just a miracle considering the damage that he and his associates are doing to this country's national security?

An interesting letter in the Australian Shooter Magazine back in 2009 applies:
"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq Theatre of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington, DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital which has some of the strictest gun control laws in
the U.S., than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington"
