(Analyst's note:  Kandahar may be the spiritual capital of the Taliban, but according to General McCrystal, Iran is providing weapons and training to Taliban in Afghanistan and the 'long arm' of al-Qaeda is known to be involved.  All the while private donors in Saudi Arabia — the home of the bin Laden family —are funneling ever increasing amounts of money totaling more than £920 million into Afghanistan primarily via North Waziristan to the Taliban often using hawala brokers. 

Three Chinese nationals have also recently been caught at the Kabul airport as they tried to carry £688,000 in undeclared currency out of the country.  Some money has been intercepted coming directly through the Kabal airport from Saudi Arabia.  No doubt Iranian intelligence services are also helping elements of the Taliban as well. 

When are our federal gov't "leaders" ever going to come to grips with the fact that we are fighting against those engaged in a global Islamist jihad and take appropriate action?  My guess is that Western intelligence knows a great deal more about these funding sources.  Maybe it is time to do more that just watch.  We certainly would not want to simply hold the sources of this money for possible future trials in New York. Just too expensive and unnecessary.

Our Western military forces can actually be quit efficient when permitted to do their job.  As someone in Washington recently said when speaking of oil being released following an explosion off the coast of Lousiana, "Just plug the ... hole."  May I suggest some special operations teams supported with high-flying drones armed with appropriate weapons be considered for those who participate in funding our enemies.  We already have the laws associated with treason for those who may be U.S. citizens knowingly supporting Financial Jihad.  Last time I checked, we are still a country at war and thus have the right and responsibility to protect our citizens.)
