Analyst's note:  Troubling.  Again we find another lawyer --"an up and coming political star"-- with political aspirations which are barely "under the surface" and an up front "spin" as why he volunteered to defend global Islamist jihadis who are determined to be our enemy.  Now he is leading the Federal Government's case against Arizona, and other states who will soon follow the AZ lead. 

Mr. Tony West is that lawyer who will lead the federal effort to derail the actions of individual states, such as AZ, who are forced to protect its citizens from yet another enemy -- illegal aliens within our borders who again wish us harm.   The states are necessarily beginning to step forward to protect its citizens because the federal gov't through the Department of Justice is refusing to do its' job.  Is it just me or do I see yet another pattern emerging in our DoJ?

The law makes it a crime to be in the state without immigration papers and requires police to determine whether suspects are in the country legally -- a provision that critics say will promote racial profiling and is unconstitutional. 

In the lawsuit, the Justice Department claims the federal government has "preeminent authority" on immigration enforcement and that the Arizona law "disrupts" that balance."
