Analyst's note: Absolutely must read. We live in a time of short "sound bites" of news that is broadcast over and over during a day, and the generally inability or time to search out actions verses words. BTW - both of which you find inherent to this site. I personally feel that we are seeing the public being told either "what they want to hear" or "what is wanted to be heard," knowing that few listeners will look up the truth.
I'm seeing the same patterns here as for the use of those techniques used in a disinformation campaign. Only this time it is being used against our own citizens by elements of our own federal government.

Again the Feds, through the DOJ, are expressing their distain for a state that would want to enforce Federal law on illegal immigration. They do not want to see the cost to the government and people of Arizona, the crime, the drug trafficing, and other problems they are creating by not enforcing their own laws. Clearly this is a political and a divisive action by the Feds. This comes at a time when we need fewer, nor more, causes for unity and cooperation in the country. Surely some of the billions in stimulus money not yet spent, could be used to protect border states and others from the costs and crime that not enforcing Federal law causes. So what are they thinking? Maybe more Latino votes for Democrats in November?
As citizens we have the right and responsibility to keep our elected officials doing what we elected them to do. Please read Arizona law -- that which far too many of those charged to do so have NOT read. Without having even read the laws, politicians are charging ahead with their progressive "social engineering" projects at our expense. We have the obligation to assure that they follow the U.S. Constitution. Based on the actions of our federal "servants" most of them have not recently, if ever, read that foundational document either. Our national security is weakened significantly as a result.
Seventeen additional states are now filing versions of Arizona's SB 1070, which is designed to help local police enforce America's existing immigration laws --Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah -- to stop the invasion.
We have no problem here at CSIA with legal immigration, but on illegal immigration we must insist that our country be protected. "[...] There is a big difference between a state or locality saying they are not going to use their resources to enforce a federal law, as so-called sanctuary cities have done, and a state passing its own immigration policy that actively interferes with federal law," Tracy Schmaler, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., told The Washington Times. "That's what Arizona did in this case."
But the author of the 1996 federal law that requires states and localities to cooperate says the administration is misreading it, and says drawing a distinction between sanctuary cities and Arizona is "flimsy justification" for suing the state.
