Analyst's note: Is this the budding "democracy" we keep hearing about coming to the Middle East? This is what some women protesters in Egypt had to endure. It is just a guess on my part, but I'd say sharia law might be used to justify this kind of activity.
"Women arrested by the Egyptian police during protests in Cairo's Tahrir Square were subjected to forced 'virginity tests', according to Amnesty International. [....] They were then given 'virginity checks' and threatened with prostitution charges if medics ruled they had had sex, according to the charity. [....]"
