Analyst's note: Absolutely must read and carefully consider. Where is the lame-stream media on this economic matter that will directly impact the United States. The article entitled Europe's Crisis Is About to Get a Whole Lot Worse suggests that, "[....]The EU is in a downward spiral. The worse things get, the more reluctant its governments are to tackle the underlying problem, viz excessive expenditure. Lacking any alternative narrative, voters blame the lack of growth on 'cuts', 'bankers' and 'deregulation'. They then support parties committed to even higher spending - which, of course, exacerbates the problem. And, as if national governments were not burdensome enough, Europeans must also contend with more rules and more taxes from Brussels. [...]"
Could it be that America is on the same path? Thoughtful people know that government giveaways ultimately do not work.
Are you seeing double? There really is a choice between two visions of America. Those visions are rooted in competing principles that are irreconcilable, and the days are gone when conservatives can get away with trying to split the difference. Hmmmmmm.....
In 1980, the national economy has declined 9.6 percent. Unemployment was above 7 percent and rising. We don't (yet) have the double-digit inflation that plagued those years, but our national debt is 16 times larger than in 1980.
An appropriate theme for 1980 would have been "Saving the American Economy." Today the picture is even more disturbing. Now we are simply trying to "Save the American Dream." We are in dramatically more economic trouble now than in 1980, and government has expanded it powers and intruded into our lives to an extent that, in 1980, would have seem inconceivable.
