Analyst's note:  Mr. Bob Basso, author of "Common Sense," plays the role of Thomas Paine to ignite the "fire of real change" in America.   Patriotism and pride for America caused Thomas Paine to help take back America!  "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." Thus far America has been slow in "getting off the starting blocks" to participate in this required revolution to take back our country.  We must return to fundamentals.  Our recent experience should be a serious warning to us all that we have lost our way and need to drink once again from the well of knowledge provided by our Founders.  Unless the American people take serious the storm flags now waving, we are doomed to repeat the past mistakes of those who refuse to pay attention to history and end up in the graveyard of fallen nations. Some of the reasons here in America include:

1. We have NOT assigned the maintaining of our Freedom a high priority.
2. We have allowed the mortal enemies of freedom to dominate our national debate.
3. We have elected some of the most undesirable persons to high office
4. We have evicted God from our counsels, schools, courts, and assemblies
5. We have become materialistic and hedonistic with the attitude of "let George do it."
6. We have failed to understand that "The only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men [and women] to do nothing."

All human history, to include that of the United States, demonstrates that concentration of governmental power is our greatest threat to individual freedom and states’ rights.  The Electoral College avoids corruption and improper influence. No person who is a Senator or Representative, or who occupies an office of trust or profit in the United States government, shall be eligible to serve as an elector.  Electors also vote at the same time to avoid the formulation of a cabal.

I thus do NOT agree with Mr. Basso's recommendation in this video to abolish the Electoral College. If that happens, the President of the United States could will be elected from concentration of voters in the largest metropolitan areas, like NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Dallas. The Electoral College instead gives a say to every state, large or small, in the choice of our President.  Our Founding Fathers thought long and hard about this issue.

BTW, a picture of a teabag inside an envelope will sail through the mail inspections .... an actual teabag will not make it to the intended recipient.

See What went wrong in America that leads to the lack of U.S. national security?  In the days prior to the resurgence of the global Islamist jihad, as stated years ago by Gen. Lewis Walt, USMC (Retired) in his book published in 1979 entitled, "The Eleventh Hour"  on page xiii, our objectives as citizens are to:

"[...] 1. to purge the Congress of the forces of appeasement and surrender which are pulling us toward war or slavery; and 2. replace them with men and women of integrity and common sense who will restore our military superiority, the only coin with which we can buy the time for diplomacy to work.

The destiny of the American people belongs in our hands, not in the hands of foreign tyrants.  Will you join me in the fight to return it to our shores?"

Gen. Walt went on to say on page 98 of his book:

"I think the future of our country boils down to this simple proposition:  either we as Americans will assume the responsibilities of citizenship or or nation, as the land of the free, will be destroyed. [....] We are living in a time of crisis, when the fate of our nation will be determined within a few short years."

Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country!  Semper Fidelis
